CATT, Children’s Accelerated Trauma Technique is an integrative trauma-focused therapy that combines CBT with creative arts. It is a child centered therapy that helps children and adolescents process traumatic memories, PTSD and complex trauma. I work with children aged 7+ who have PTSD or C-PTSD.
It fits with the UK NICE guidance (2018) and World Health Organisation guidelines (2013) on treating children and adolescents with PTSD and complex trauma.
CATT supports young people to process their traumatic memories in a safe, child-friendly way.
Not everyone is the same. CATT is adaptable and child-centred in its approach to treatment.
CATT’s 12-stage process allows each stage to be adapted to each child’s individual needs in order to achieve maximum benefit.
Developed by Dr Carlotta Raby in 1997 in London and alongside children and adolescents, CATT is based on research and fits with UK NICE guidance (2018) and World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines (2013). CATT supports children and young people to process their traumatic memories in a safe, child friendly way.
