Counselling for autistic adults and children aged 11+ ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions
My counselling practice follows the National Autistic Society good practice guide for professionals delivering talking therapies.
Please contact me to discuss what adaptations and adjustments can be made to support you or your child. I am happy to discuss your needs via phone, text or email.
I have a real interest in supporting Autistic adults, children and young people aged 11+ people with ADHD, other Neurodivergent conditions and their families.
When working with Autistic young people and people with ADHD, I am often asked if I can support them with other aspects of their lives in addition to their emotions, self esteem and mental health. Work around personal safety, boundaries, relationships, communication and their sense of self is often a key focus of our work.
Autistic adults and people with ADHD may be struggling with re framing their lives from a later diagnosis, or trauma from earlier childhood at school, being misunderstood and pushed to conform into ways that do not fit with their authentic self. We will work together with whatever goals and aspirations you have.
I'm currency working with Autistic children, children with ADHD, Autism PDA, LD, Sensory processing, Speech and communication difficulties, anxiety, masking, challenging behaviours and a variety of neurodivergent conditions in a SEND communication and interaction collage.
I continue to keep my knowledge up to date attending relevant CPD training and workshops.
Although I have an understanding of Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder ARFID, I do not work specifically with this condition, as it requires specialist training. Referrals for children can be made via a Paediatrician to a feeding and eating disorders service such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Addenbrookes Hospital and London Maudsley clinics).
Assistance dogs are welcome. My practice room is not accessible for wheelchair access and has stairs to the first floor. Please contact me to arrange alternative meeting options if required. Parking is free, although sometimes the car park becomes busy, please allow extra time for parking. There is a café and toilet facilities on site.
I hope to provide an accessible service for everyone, I welcome any feedback to help improve the services offered.
